Looking into the eyes of the future, Auand Records rolls out its new series: Auand Beats. Sticking to the calling that has always distinguished the label, this new section is rocked by striking electronic sounds, highlighting the potential in improvisers who leave a jazz path they often belong to, and take some new roads lighted up by electro waves, synthetic intuitions and music programming.

In this well-crafted short circuit, with machines eating up acoustic sounds to generate an all-new material, Frank Martino’s YLYNE also plays a relevant role: including acoustic drums, trombone, voices and saxophone, this project expands the amount of options dramatically. Every bit extracted by an instrument has been processed and reprogrammed, while drum machines and analog synths have been programmed yet recorded live as a sort of additional ordinary touch, which also brings complexity in.

Auand Beats thus becomes a parallel branch of the label, heading to the same direction: giving an opportunity to those who like to get their hands dirty with new sounds, and pursuing its quest for fresh and fitting interpretations of today’s music, as far as contemporary jazz and improvisation are concerned.
